IUI Info

In order to achieve acceptable success rates, IUI should be performed according to strict criteria and after thorough clinical investigation to highlight the causes of infertility, including at least the evaluation of ovulation, tube patency, and semen quality (for partner insemination) prior to insemination. The cycle should be monitored by ultrasound and hormonal analysis or urinary LH test (home test) in order to schedule timed insemination around ovulation.

Intrauterine insemination (IUI)

Pregnancy rates vary between 5% and 15% per started cycle, depending on the indication for treatment. By performing a number of cycles, the cumulative pregnancy rate rise to 30%-50%.

The decision to treat a patient by means of IUI is an easy step to take. Nevertheless, it can lead to complications such as multiple pregnancy when ovarian stimulation is added as a treatment. Therefore, we should always bear in mind that even for a simple procedure such as IUI, a cleat indication for treatment is mandatory.

There are not enough kind words to let you know how much I appreciate AFMC. Going through infertility is a hard thing, but the staff made it much easier to get through. Everyone was so nice each and every time that I called or came in the office. That meant a lot to us. I knew that we would not get that kind of treatment anywhere else. AFMC simply spoiled us!
